Joel Sternfeld

Walking the Highline

“Since 2000 photographer Joel Sternfeld has documented the abandoned elevated railway line running down the west side of Manhattan. The work within this book was pivotal to friends of the high line’s campaign for the preservation and re-use of the space. The line was originally built to serve the dock yards along the Hudson river but since 1980 has remained abandoned only to be reclaimed by nature. Sternfeld’s photographs reveal fields of grass and wheat weaving through a city known for its monumental man made spectacles, as the seasons progress so does the line’s relationship with the city. This book acts as a memorial and celebration to the high line, a historic industrial location that has been part of the city for eighty years and has most recently become one of New York’s most popular spectacles.”

New Snowpiercer still with a large part of the cast

Snowpiercer
I’m pretty excited for this. A post-apocalyptic setting, a train, and a fabulous cast (SWINTON) are all things I like in my movies.
